So I have a bunch of PDF files, white papers, technical documents on computers or politics that I wanted to read on my iPad.

I thought it would be pretty easy to add PDF files, considering adding music or photos is pretty easy. I ended up having to google it and find the associated knowledge base article from Apple Support.

I figured I would create a directory and dump all my PDFs into that directory and tell iTunes that was where my files were. That’s how I add my music and photos, I naturally would have thought adding PDF files would be the same way. It’s not.

Here is how to do it:

On MAC OS X, you basically open up a Finder Window and drag the PDF file from the Finder Window into the Books section under Library in iTunes.

I just wish I found this out before getting the GoodReader app.

I am by no means am an expert at playing scrabble. I do like to play the occasional game of Scrabble. I’m usually playing official Scrabble or Words With Friends. I’ve been playing for a while and I thought I’d share some tips and strategies I use when I play.

Use the triple word scores as soon as you can. Even if you have a two letter word. Chances are if you don’t use it, your opponent will.

Never ever pass, every point counts. Especially when you are losing. The only exception to this rule is at the end of the game when you know for sure, if you are going to win.

Avoid placing tiles near the triple word (TW) scores. At least 3 spaces around it. Your opponent will likely find a way to take advantage of it – any cost – see Rule #1

You can get lots of points even with two letter words . You need to use them with Double Letter (DL), Triple Letter (TL), Double Word (DW) or Triple Word (TW) spots.

Get familiar with two letter words. The dictionary in the official Scrabble app will show you what they are. Or you can just Google it.

Use the letters Q, J and X only on triple letter (TL) or double letter (DL) spots. See if you can stretch the word to include a triple word (TW) or double word (DW). You might score over 100 points if you can.

Use the letter ‘S’ to make words plural and start new words at the same time.

If you don’t have enough letters to make a triple word (TW) score, fill in as many spaces as you can to prevent the other party from playing it. It’s better left unused than used against you.

Good luck and have fun. Everyone has a different skill level when they first start out, so ease up on the trash talk. It only discourages people from playing.
